WILD JUSTICE Fizz finances hit the wall Beaumont Brides Book 1 eBook LIZ FIELDING
I loved this story!!!The book did start off very slow but once I got past the beginning where there is way too much time spent on explaining the workings of the radio station and the sponsorship and giving back story on the Beaumont's acting and stage history it got much much better.
From Luke and Fiz's first meeting I was captivated. I loved the character's. I loved the banter between Luke and Fiz who had me constantly smiling. I loved that even while she was falling in love with Luke, Fiz was constantly trying to figure out a way to foil his plan so she and her station wasn't held hostage. I loved that even though he hated the Beaumonts with a passion, Luke kept falling a little more in love with Fiz every time they met. And I love that all the loose ends were all tied up in a neat little bow at the end.
Was it perfect? no, there were parts that could have used some work. Like I said the beginning was very slow. I thought his reason for revenge was plausible but I thought her reason for basically cutting her self off from all men was a little extreme. I figure her extreme hurt over Patrick's defection was because he was her first love but it still seemed a bit over blown....
It was definitely a book I couldn't put down once I got started and for that I give it 5 stars.

WILD JUSTICE Fizz finances hit the wall Beaumont Brides Book 1 eBook LIZ FIELDING Reviews
When Liz Fielding posted on Twitter that she was offering her book for free on smashwords.come, I took the chance and scooped up a copy - and I'm glad I did! I have never read anything by this author before, so I didn't know what to expect - which can be both exciting and scary (in a good way).
Wild Justice is romance at its best - not so much simpering and fluffy, but with a real, meaty story to balance it all out nicely - just the way I like it! I will admit to being slightly thrown off at times by grammar errors (most likely a product of formatting - something I have personally experienced with my own writing) and slightly by the setting - as I am unfamiliar with England locals. But that feeling was quickly pushed aside as I delved further into the story, more often than not unable to put it down. Although, overall, the pace was good, there were a few times when I wanted it to speed up - especially when it came to trying to figure out what Luke Devlin's end-game was; and other times when I want it to slow down - I would have liked to get more insight, through Luke's POV, into his conflicting feelings for Felicity "Fizz" Beaumont and why he was doing what he was doing. I also felt that even though the sexual attraction and tension between Luke and Fizz was very well done, I would have wanted more from Luke's POV on what was happening between them as opposed to him declaring his love for her to her almost out of the blue.
But even with these few points, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and found myself wanting more when I reached the end - and lucky for me there is more! I will definitely be checking out the sequel, of which an excerpt was included and although I don't usually read excerpts, I read this one and was instantly hooked!!
Fizz (Felicity) manages a local radio station committed to broadcasting local news, sports, and a soap opera radio program. Her career and the station are in shambles when her major sponsor, Harries Industries, is sold to a ruthless businessman. Luke has a plan to maintain sponsorship, but it comes with a price. Fizz is immediately suspicious, and the more she delves into Luke's life, the more she's determined he has a personal vendetta against her famous family.
This is the classic case of a ruthless businessman who underestimates a beautiful lady, then is surprised by her and comes to esteem and desire her. Fizz is your classic "ice princess," the beautiful girl whose heart was broken and has never fully recovered. She's sworn off men, but there is an instant attraction (a "spark") when she looks in his eyes, and she knows he is dangerous. It doesn't get more cliched than that.
The story doesn't drag; it has a decent story line. It doesn't take too long to figure out what Luke's real motivation is, though, and once you know it, you're waiting quite a while for Fizz to figure it out and the story to reach a conclusion. This book receives 3 stars, because 1. the editing is poor, sometimes to the point that it interrupts the flow; 2. I don't want to spoil the ending, but the life-changing event that brings together Fizz and Luke is an old trick that I'm really tired of (everyone knows it doesn't solve anything in real life); and 3. I find it hard to believe that Fizz would in reality forgive Luke for all he's done to her family. He's really a ruthless man, and he doesn't do much of anything to prove he really loves her. I felt she'd be better off without him and had really hoped she'd be able to fall for her banker friend, who was so kind and good to her. He adored her and showed his love, while expecting nothing in return. The fact that she used him and fell for a man who was trying to destroy her and her family shows that she's a character with major problems.
Set in one of the coastal regions of England, this story is a contemporary tale that brings the daughter of a famous stage performing family and the new owner of the largest manufacturer in town into conflict over continuing sponsorship of her radio station. Most of us today are not as connected to radio as people in former generations, yet most of us listen to the radio in our cars and even on our portable listening devices. Fizz Beaumont was a woman who poured her heart and soul into this small community enterprise and she was determined to overcome the negative response of the new business mogul who had revenge in his heart and whose efforts to humiliate her family were unknown to her at first but which clearly came into play later in the story. This is a book that isn't simplistic by any means and which will force the reader to be thoughtful in one's responses to the story and to keep all the characters straight in order to appreciate the complexity of the tale as well as make sense of how it all plays out. I have not read a Fielding story for a long time but I found this book to be so very interesting and vastly entertaining. It's one really terrific read.
